Dead Man Walking

This show was the third in our rotation at the Des Moines Metro Opera. This show consisted of over five thousand pounds of steel. The set pieces included six eighteen foot guard towers, four shorter bridges, one long bridge that flew in during the show and attached to two of the towers. This show also consisted of a seven inch deck and a nine inch deck, the seven inch deck had a track in it for two rolling palletes that were controlled by hand crank winches, nineteen foot tall chainlink fences and two sliding jail bars on a track, all of these flew. Lastly, this show consisted of two flats that were on pulleys and were opened and closed during the show, an MDF floor on the playing circle and the pit bridges, and a pit railing. This show was the most difficult to load in and out every day, it took on average about eight hours to load in and four to load out.
